Blue Frog is a revolutionary, integrated music project in Mumbai. It consists of the country's premiere live music performance club, four state-of-the-art music recording soundlabs, a music production house comprising top-notch composers, musicians and producers, and an independent record label & artist management services.
Housed in a defunct warehouse in Lower Parel, the 6,000 square-foot Blue Frog Club blends acoustic excellence and lush, opulent ambience design with live band performances, inventive cuisine and an excellent bar. The space is optimal for live performances: a large, raised stage, massive projection screens, textured lighting, amphitheatre-style seating and plenty of room to move and groove. Gigs run six nights a week, every week, with international artists featured frequently. Genres range from jazz, blues, funk, soul and Afro/Latin to electronic, club, rock, folk and lots more.
Artists including Sara Tavares (Portugal/Cape Verdi), Roy Paci (Italy), X Makeena and Magic Malik Orchestra (France), Bugge Wesseltoft and Frost (Norway), Bacalao Men (Venezuela), The Ploctones (Holland), Susheela Raman and Shri (UK), Bauchklang (Austria), Bob Belden + Animation (USA) and Mango Blue (Latin America) as well as top-notch artists from all over India have already played at the club. Blue Frog Records launches on 21 May 2008. The label features original music in genres such as jazz, experimental, world, rock, electronica and more. The label gives non-mainstream artists freedom of musical expression and offers the public a complete package of their favourite band: eclectic, collectible cover art, a beautifully designed and written booklet with lyrics, stories, artwork and information, music CDs and live concert DVDs.
