Shaadi Se Pehle

Soundtrack, Tips Rs 150

If you have any doubts about the almost pervasive influence of Punjab on Hindi films, listen to Himesh Reshammiya’s soundtrack for Shaadi Se Pehle. The album begins with “Mundeya”, an unimaginative sugary pop tune with nothing lyrics and jarring bhangra-meets-techno beats. “Ankhiyon Se Gal Kar Gayi” and “Tuteya Ve” vary only in tempo from “Mundeya”. “Bijuriya” is the only track that stands out, but not in a good way. The song sounds like a mash of “Babuji Zara Dheere Chalo” from Dum and “Kajra Re” from Bunty Aur Babli. Nikhil Subramaniam
