| The centre has a static exhibition on the history of science, in addition to an integrated laboratory for secondary school-level science and mathematics. Live demonstrations and lectures on software applications and fire safety can be arranged by request.

| Maharashtra Nature Park |

| Once a stinking waste dump, this two-kilometre garden along Mahim Creek, where the Mithi River meets the sea, invites children to make their way through leafy trails spotting birds, dragonflies, frogs and butterflies. Maharashtra Nature Park is filled with fragrant medicinal plants flourishing beneath a canopy of trees including pala (flame of the forest), mahua and kadamba. School children on educational trips walk around jotting notes as part of their environment observations on fish at the matsyalaya (aquarium) and the bird-care centre. Daily (except bank holidays) 9am-3pm. Rs 5. |

| Kids between the ages of three and six can learn how to make a pop-up caterpillar with Kinjal Shah. The following weekend, Shah will teach six-to-nine year olds how to make flowers out of handmade paper. |

| Borivali National Park, sprawled across 105 square kilometres, provides much-needed greenery and fresh air to a congested city. Its hotspots: lion and tiger safaris, deer park, snake garden, toy train, pedal-boating on the lake. Walk trails here to spot birds and reptiles like the yellow-backed sunbird, paradise flycatcher and spotted gecko. The Buddhist caves at Kanheri are a stone’s throw away. Trek up for a splendid view. |

| The Make n Bake studio offers alternative craft options for kids with their ready- to-paint ceramic products. Kids can choose from a range of pre-made ceramic products like name plates and show pieces and paint them the way they want to. The pieces are then fired and glazed at the studio and their creations are returned to the kids after a week. All ages. |

| This personal collection of art objects bequeathed by the devout collector Framji Dadabhoy Alpaiwalla traces the growth of the Parsi community in Mumbai. Enter to be greeted by charming displays of terracotta horse riders and banjo players, stone blades, priceless porcelain and paintings, silks and brocaded caps. Older children may prefer digging in even further to examine centuries-old pottery remnants, the cuneiform inscription of Artaxerxes III at Persepolis and a framed firman (land grant) issued by Emperor Jehangir to Dadabhai Naoroji’s ancestors. |
