180 Degrees lunch buffet
The buffet spread includes 12 salads, soups, chaat, antipasti, a pasta counter and a selection of Oriental, Continental and Indian dishes for the main course. There are also fat-free and sugar-free desserts.

Amore’s organic gelato
In partnership with Navdanya, the NGO that promotes organic farming, Amore has introduced two new flavours of gelato, which they claim are 100 per cent organic. Both the Navdanya organic mulling spice mix and the Navdanya organic dry fruit mix are available by the scoop and in eco-friendly gift hampers.

Banyan Tree Café
Gallery BMB has launched its in-house café called Banyan Tree. It is geared for visitors to the art gallery and bookshop. The breakfast spread includes muesli, pancakes, masala omelette with bacon and cheddar cheese and a variety of breads and juices. The all-day menu includes chicken nuggets served with blue cheese dip and grissini, BBQ ribs, quesadillas and a range of coffees and desserts.

Busaba Sunday brunch
Pan Asian restaurant Busaba has a new menu for its Sunday brunch. The preparations include starters such as grilled salmon and teriyaki sushi, Korean pajun or pancakes with shrimp, squid and scallions, entrees such as Burmese chicken khaukswe with noodles, desserts, and cocktails such as the Busaba Mary, the watermelon caipiroshca and the green apple margarita.

Corleone’s new menu
Executive chef Paul Kinny has designed a new menu at Corleone at the InterContinental, expanding the restaurant’s focus on home-style Sicilian and Italian cooking to contemporary European cuisine with influences from around the world. The preparations include appetisers like lamb kibbeh tartare served with fried scallions and spicy tomato sauce, mains like stuffed squash with mushroom trifolati and red pepper coulis, and desserts such as lemon crackle cheesecake. There are also lighter meal options for lunch. Corleone also has a new beverage menu with entries like coffee cocktails made from single-origin coffees and mixed drinks.

The Gourmet Shoppe’s desserts
All through January, the Oberoi’s Gourmet Shoppe will serve an assortment of desserts such as mixed fresh fruit tart, apricot and prune tart, and honey and walnut tart.

Keya’s freeze-dried products
Amalgam Specialty Foods launches Keya, a range of herbs, seasonings and spices for Indian, Chinese and Italian cuisines. These ingredients are said to be organic and have been freeze-dried for freshness. The flavours available are basil, oregano and parsley in herbs, cardamom powder, chilli flakes and cinnamon powder in spices, and Italian, Chinese and salad seasonings.

Mainland China’s new outlet
Mainland China has opened its fifth Mumbai outlet at the SoBo Central mall. The menu features Beijing duck rolls, Guilin chilli prawns, crispy zucchini with pickled chillies, and coconut dumplings with honey butter sauce.

The Mirador’s Oriental food festival
Tangerine, the Chinese and Thai restaurant at the Mirador, hosts an Oriental food festival, The Wok of Spice, until Fri Jan 22. The spread includes glass-noodle salad, steamed fish with Sichuan pepper sauce, green curry with prawns and phad Thai noodles.

Nature’s Basket tea-time hampers
The tea-time hamper from Godrej Nature’s Basket includes Davidoff coffee and an assortment of antioxidant-rich teas such as Chamong Darjeeling, Arbor Treat Nawab Grey and Austrian Pfanner green tea flavoured with lemon and prickly pear. The teas come with munchies like honey-oat and apricot cake, Belgium Treasure butter wafers, Murray chocolate, Hwa Tai tiramisu, and garlic bread with butter.

On Toes
All through January, On Toes has a special offer: get a complimentary drink with every two drinks ordered on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The lunch buffet at On Toes serves Indian, Chinese and Italian cuisine on Sundays.

Pizza Hut menu additions
Pizza Hut’s new menu includes sautéed pastas, starters, desserts like choco-chip sundae, drinks like grape sangria cooler and new pizzas. The pastas include creamy spinach fettucine and Arabiatta with smoked chicken and black olives.

Swadshakti Café’s breakfast
Swadshakti, the café at Ayurveda health centre Ayushakti, has introduced a low-calorie Panchkarma breakfast. The menu includes moong soup, poha, upma, pancakes made of fruits and vegetables, chaats, parathas and kokum sherbet.

Society teas
Society Tea has introduced two new instant tea mixes. For those who like their tea hot, there’s Amar instant tea. The mix, which is available in masala, adrakh (ginger) with pudina (mint) and elaichi (cardamom) flavours contains a mix of tea, sugar, milk powder and spices. They also have lemon and green tea-flavoured ices tea instant mixes.
Available at all major grocery stores. Rs 100 for ten sachets of iced tea mix and Rs 150 for ten sachets of Amar tea mix.
 
Booze bazaar
Bouvet Brut Rosé Bubbly
This Valentine’s season, United Breweries Group presents Bouvet Brut Rosé Bubbly, a premium sparkling wine said to have a fruity bouquet.
Available at all major liquor stores. Rs 1,700 for 750ml.

Outlets at Oberoi Mall
Pizza Hut, Cream Centre and Naturals ice cream have opened new outlets at Oberoi Mall.

Cooking classes
Ajita Mukhey
A caterer in Manila for 32 years, Mukhey conducts cooking classes at Nepean Sea Road. She teaches 12 preparations from Thai, Indonesian, Middle Eastern, Spanish, Malaysian and Moroccan cuisine. There are ten students to a class and the menu changes every week.
